What is the benefit of coming to the University of Illinois for actuarial science?

The University of Illinois puts students in touch with a wide variety of companies. The university is considered a “pipeline” school to jobs in Chicago. Many companies visit us for our career fair that is specifically for the actuarial science major. Another valuable asset that Illinois has is the Research Park on campus. The Research Park has 120+ companies that hire students and provide corporate experience. At the University of Illinois you receive a quality education as well as many opportunities to get involved and interact with industry professionals.

How many exams does the University of Illinois prepare me for?

The University of Illinois offers courses that cover information that pertain to eight exams.

What is the first thing I should do to get involved with the Actuarial Science Club?

As a first year student, it is strongly encouraged to attend our Freshman BBQ and our Fall Kickoff Event that occur during the first week of school.

Is it possible to double major?

Yes! Many actuarial science majors pursue a double major and/or minor. Common combinations with actuarial science include statistics, economics, and communication.

Is study abroad possible as an actuarial science major at the University of Illinois?
