Pooja Khatri
Hi! My name is Pooja Khatri, and I’m a sophomore majoring in Actuarial Science and Economics. I’ve been involved with ASC, AXIS Risk Management Academy, and the Honors Program. I’m currently interning with State Farm at Research Park as a P&C Intern. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and drawing. I also enjoy listening to music and watching movies.
Daniel Polites
Hi my name is Daniel Polites, and I am a Junior majoring in Actuarial Science and Statistics, minoring in Business and Mathematics. Throughout my years in ASC I've been involved with committees (workshops committee, helping plan our spring symposium) and exec board (first as the company presentations chair, then as president). I am currently studying for my fourth actuarial exam and have been interning with State Farm since my freshman year. I also love playing piano and reading! Looking forward to helping out with the ACP this year.
Carli Allen
My name is Carli Allen, and I am currently a senior studying Actuarial Science with a minor in Applied Statistics. I started my collegiate career as a Mathematics major, but I found a love for business and transferred into the Actuarial Science program my sophomore year. This past summer I had the opportunity to intern with PwC in their Health and Wellness Actuarial Consulting practice, and I was able to pass the IFM exam. I am in my last semester here on campus, and I wouldn’t have traded my experience here for the world!
John Tang
I'm John Tang, a senior double majoring in Actuarial Science and Statistics. Some of my hobbies include cooking, working out, and playing video and board games. A little fun fact: I've done 3 separate homestay experiences in Japan! Throughout my years at UIUC, I've had many fortunate opportunities to meet other actuaries and was able to gain internships and a full-time job into the actuarial field as a direct result. I want to pass it forward and be a reliable resource for students.
Yifan Xiong
Hi guys, my name is Yifan Xiong. I'm currently a junior majoring in actuarial science and statistics. I'm interested in the intersection of statistics and actuarial science and their application in business technology, data analytics and social policies. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, hanging out with friends, and watching movies.
Andy Brown
Hello! My name is Andy Brown and I'm a Junior studying Statistics and Actuarial Science. During my time at U of I, I have been involved with Gamma Iota Sigma and the Illinois Risk Lab. I've also interned with State Farm at the RDC and at American Family Insurance. In my free time, I enjoy playing board games, poker, and watching football.
Bilal Ayub
My name is Bilal Ayub, and I'm a Senior at U of I majoring in Actuarial Science. I've passed 2 SOA Exams and studying for my third to hopefully pass in November. I enjoy chess and swimming and have most recently been into gymnastics. The most spontaneous thing I've done is go skydiving for my birthday weekend at the start of Spring 2022.
Stephanie Yang
Hello! My name is Stephanie Yang and I'm a sophomore studying Actuarial Science. I'm thinking of getting a minor in either statistics or computer science and I hope to study abroad in Europe next year. I've been involved in ASC as a member of the publicity committee and this year as publicity chair. Outside of class, I love hammocking, playing board/card games, and watching trashy reality TV with my roommates.
